Lars and Ruben both got wide grins on their faces.
>>You don't know what kind of pokémon type we specialyce in, right?<<
Jasper didn't seem to care.
>>Each of us is only allowed to use one pokémon<< Ruben explained.
>>This means two pokémon for each team. You should choose carefully<< Lars added.
>>I'm fine with this pokémon<< Jasper seemed to be full of confidence.
>>Uh-But I think I'll switch<< Lapis called Alume back, and took out Flypyre's pokéball.
>We weren't able to fight together yet. It's time to get to know each other!<
>>Go Flypyre!<<
Flypyre and Crablet now stood side by side, waiting for their opponents.
The young gym leaders now took their own pokéballs out.
>>They should do<< one said to the other.
Lars and Ruben threw their pokéballs and two pokémon came out, that Jasper and Lapis weren't familiar with.
>Those pokémon must be from another region< Lapis thought.
[Plusle - the cheering pokémon ...]
A weird computer voice caught Lapis attention.
She looked around, and found it coming from an item Jasper hold in his hands.
>Ah, a pokédex?!< Before she could even react, the voice started once again.
[Minun -  the cheering pokémon ...]
>That's... That's the pokédex that got stolen from Prof. Hazel! And that means this Crablet is...<
>>Ok, listen - Both of their pokémon are electric types, and they're probably specialyzed in double battles, so be careful!<<
Jasper put the pokédex back in his pocket.
Lapis wasn't sure what to do now >>Uhmm... Ok, do you have any strategy?<<
>>We'll sees<< Jasper didn't look at her.
Suddenly a lighting striked into the ground before them, Crablet and Flypyre barely dodget it.
>>If you're not going to attack then we will!<< The boy in yellow said.
>>Plusle, Minun use 'Thunderbolt' again!<< The red one shouted.
>>Aah, Flypyre dodge it!<< Lapis cried.
>>Crablet keep movin! Lapis aren't you going to attack?<<
>>Attack? Uhmm.. Well what kind of moves does Flypyre know...?<<
>>You mean you don't know!?<< Jasper shouted >>Try out 'Ember'!<<
>>Ok, Flypyre use 'Ember'!<<
Flypyre shot hot ember from it's mouth.
Minun got hit, Plusle dodget it.
>>Minun! Ok Plusle use 'Helping Hand'!<<
>>Do it again!<< It seemed as if Jasper was coming up with a plan.
Minun got back to full power and now used 'Thunderbolt' again along with Plusle. Flypyre got hit.
>>Aah, noo Flypyre!<< Lapis cried. Flypyre stood up again and now shot it's 'Ember' again.
This time both pokémon got hit.
>>Good job Lapis, Flypyre!<< This time Jasper smiled,
>>Crablet now use 'Watergun'!<<
>>Heeeh? But that's a water type move!<< Lapis watched as both Minun and Plusle were hit by a stream of water that came from Crablet's mouth.
They got back up again as if nothing happend.
>>Hahaha, seems as if you know nothing about pokémon type advantages and disadnvantages!<< Lars started to giggle loudly.
>>Yeah. Plusle, Minun finish them off!<< Ruben shouted.
But instead of another 'Thunderbolt', only little sparks flew all around the room.
>>What the?!<< The twins were speechless. Jasper smiled.
>>Your pokémon are still wet. They can't focus their electric moves anymore!
Now Crablet use 'Shadow Ball'!<<
Minun and Plusle both got hit, a double K.O.!
>>...Wow...<< Lapis was just as speechless as the two little gym leaders.
>>Phew... Our first battle as gym leaders and now we already lost.<< Ruben wiped the sweat from his forehead,
Lars entered the battle field and called the passed out pokémon back.
>>Let's hope not all of the trainers are as strong as you guys.<<
Jasper called back Crablet and Lapis called back Flypyre.
The battle was over and Jasper's smile turned back to his usual frown.
